RTÉ weatherwoman goes off on long-range weather predictions
RTE WEATHER FORECASTER Evelyn Cusack has something to say, so you all better sit up and listen.
She began her weather report on the Nine News last night with a lecture on the impossibility of long-range weather forecasts, filled with plenty of thinly-veiled jabs at those who claim to be able to do so.
Her main beef is with those who say animals and plants can predict the weather, which could have been aimed at Donegal postman and amateur weather forecaster Michael Gallagher. She may also still be mad that this donkey managed to photobomb her report back in August.
And if you think moon cycles have anything to do with it, you’ve another thing coming:
This particular point may be a reference to Ken Ring, the New Zealander who claimed to have predicted the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes in Christchurch. Oof.
Her lecture was accompanied by some slides summarising her points:

So basically – animals don’t know, plants don’t know, the moon can’t tell you anything. You can’t predict the weather in the long-term, so stop ASKING, OK?
